Chunky Side Dutch Braid Tutorial
A Dutch braid is a simple braid to do and is basically an in-side-out or reverse French braid which creates a look as if the braid is standing up from the rest of the hair. By braiding strands of hair under rather than over each other you can create a more defined and unique braid. You can do it down the middle of your head, but we love it on the side for a more trendy look. Pull out pieces "like crazy" for a more relaxed look, or pull tight for a more sleek look.
This Chunky Side Dutch Braid hairstyle is one of my absolute FAVORITES! The braid is so chunky and bold, you're sure to have people stopping you telling you they love your hair when you do this hairstyle! The Cashmere Hair Extensions really help give this braid that extra volume and thickness it needs in order to be a show-stopping look. Follow along in this tutorial after you clip in your Cashmere Hair Extensions.
Tips for creating this Chunky Dutch Side Braid:
- Make sure to add all the hair by the time you reach chin level, because it can look weird if you are still adding in hair at neck-level.
- Use bobby-pins to secure the braid once finished.
- Check out the technique on how to pull out and loosen each loop of the braid to make it fuller in the video.
- Add hairspray if you have lots of layers in your hair to secure it even more to last all day.
