By Rachel Koren

Did you know that when creating a long ponytail you don't need to purchase a super long ponytail to achieve this look? Some of your want your hair super long, and we get it! You can use your Classic clip in extensions from Cashmere Hair in any length.

We recommend the 20" length to achieve the same look that is in the video, but you can use any length extensions that you have to try it out.

Create A Ponytail

Simply put your natural hair into a high ponytail, using a strong elastic to secure the base of your ponytail. This step in important because you want it to be able to hold the weight of the clip in hair extensions that you will be attaching to achieve this look.

Braid The Ponytail

Braid the ponytail and secure with a small elastic at the bottom. Starting with one of our longer tracks (we recommend starting with the 8" track) to the bottom (1-2" above the hair tie) or middle of the braid with the first clip, wrapping the track around the braid as tightly as possible and then securing the other clips onto the braid.

Clip In Hair Extension Tracks

For an even fuller ponytail, once the first track is secure, you can add the second large weft to the braid just above the first track that you clipped in.

Attach it by using the first clip and securing it onto the braid, wrap it around, and secure the other clips onto the braid to ensure a good hold.

Conceal The Remaining Braid

Using the 3rd large track, clip the first clip just above your hair tie onto your hair, and wrap it around your own hair tie and the base of your ponytail. Secure the last clip on top of the track or to the base of your ponytail. This is to conceal the remaining braid and to create a seamless ponytail look.

Wrap Hair Around The Base To Conceal

Once you have secured all of the tracks, separate a 1/2 inch section of hair from the track that you clipped on around the base of your ponytail, and wrap that hair around the base of the ponytail to conceal where the track attaches to your ponytail.

Using a few bobby pins, secure the wrapped-around part at the base of the ponytail. You can also use a large scrunchie to conceal where the track attaches to your hair.

How To Style The Ponytail

Using a curling wand, waver, or flat iron, blend the hair together and create texture! In the video, Haley used a curling wand to create soft waves to add texture to the ponytail. Creating waves helps the different layers blend together to create a seamless and natural-looking long ponytail.

Gently brush to smooth the hairs, add some Extension Shine Spray beautiful shine and softness. Using a smoothing hair product, tame flyaways and sleek back your own hair above your ears to finish.
