Transitioning to Clip-ins: Tips for First-Time Extension Users

Practice Makes Perfect

Total pieces:

  • 7 clip-in pieces of varying widths
  • Four 3 inch pieces (2 clips on each)
  • One 6 inch piece (3 clips)
  • One 7 inch piece (3 clips)
  • One 8 inch piece (3 clips)


First, you will place the 3 larger wefts in the center of your head, stacking on on top of another about .5-1 inch apart. Then you will place 2 side pieces on each side, again stacking about .5-1 inch apart one on top of the other. Preferably, they'll be on a slight diagonal line going higher towards the front of your face for a nice blend.
