For those of you with shorter hair who want some extra length sometimes, you may know the struggle of getting your luxury clip-in extensions to blend and look as natural as possible. In this blog post, we will go over a couple of simple game-changing hacks you can implement in your clip-in extension application that will help your extensions blend seamlessly with minimal effort! Click the photo above to watch our step-by-step video tutorial on these two techniques.

The Upside Down Method

Now, the key to blending short hair with extensions begins with how you apply the first bottom track. This first hack requires you to take a small section of hair at the nape of your neck at the midpoint of your ears, underneath the hair, and instead of clipping the first track on top of that bottom section, you will clip in the first track of your  natural-looking extensions upside down underneath that section, clips facing upward. This will help conceal those shorter pieces that tend to stick out once you bring your hair forward.

The Braided Method

This next trick is one of the more common ways to conceal those shorter pieces, and that is the braid method. You will first take that small section of hair at the nape of your neck and braid it. Then secure it with elastic, and then use a couple of bobby pins to secure that section up and out of the way like what is pictured. You'll then clip in the bottom track of your human hair extensions just above or onto that braided section. This will give off the appearance that the longer pieces of hair from the professional extensions are growing directly from your scalp. You can then apply and style the rest of your tracks as you normally would, and notice the most natural-looking blend with your short hair and your extensions!
